"I’m very proud to drop this mixtape, hoping it reaches the ears of people who love DJing, hip-hop and especially the music of Mr. West.
This man has had a career like no other. He has given classic beats and hooks to everyone from Janet Jackson to Rick Ross, he invented the soul sound, and what I like most about him is he has great vision. I can spend hours trying to explain how innovative this guy is, but I’d rather we get back to the matter at hand. His music has everything it needs to chart, get critical acclaim but you can tell he’s driving hardest at creating that classic sample-heavy hip-hop, soul and new school sound. I mean, how many guys do 60 mixes of a song before it comes out? ABOUT THIS TAPE. I lack fanciness in writing and in the artwork (which I did myself), but I promise you my skills as a DJ are sharp as a ginsu on this tape. It took me 3 weeks, probably between 100 – 200 hours to get it right (I’m picky). I really went deep in to give music fans something articulate: scratches, digital juggles, lots of blends, studio edits and tricks. If you play it on an iPod or in iTunes, the tracks are all chapters and there’s a pic for every chapter representing the song. I’d like people to rate this among the best tapes ever, but you guys be the judge, diss it, love it, hate it, whatever, let me know what you think." -DJ M-Rock for sending it..."

*VERY IMPORTANT !*Help Save a Life: Register to Become a Bone-Marrow Donor.10-year-old L.J. Jones
Preserve Our Legacy, an organization that raises awareness about the need for minority donors, is working to get 25,000 new donors on the marrow registry in hopes that one of them will be a match for 10-year-old L.J. Jones, who has a rare form of leukemia, and save his life. Visit www.preserveourlegacy.org to find out what you can do to help L.J. or someone else in need of a bone-marrow transplant.

BET.com readers and viewers of 106 & Park have an opportunity to make a direct impact on L.J.’s life—and the lives of many more who wait for marrow transplants—by registering to become a donor. If you are in good health and over the age of 18, then you’re eligible to be a marrow donor.
L.J. appeared on a special episode of 106 & Park this week, and hosts Terrence and Rosci took the bone marrow compatibility test live on the air.
L.J.'s background—mixed African-American, Latino, and Native American ancestry—makes his case particularly daunting. The complicated genetic makeup of patients with Black and Latino mixed ancestry makes finding marrow matches more difficult than it is for white patients. The odds of finding a match are even more slim because, with very few Blacks signed up to be donors, the pool of potential matches is low. Currently, 83 percent of African-Americans who need transplants never find a match after six months of searching.
The rate of African American and multi-ethnic individuals signing up to be donors is extremely low.
With a mixed ancestry (African American, Latino, and Native American), LJ’s case is particularly daunting. He’s been through numerous rounds of chemotherapy, but it’s going to take a bone marrow transplant to save his life.
106 & PARK viewers have the potential to make a direct impact on LJ's life, and the lives of many more in need of bone marrow transplants. The aim, alongside Preserve Our Legacy is to get 25,000 new donors on the marrow registry, in the hopes that one of them will be a match for LJ, and save his life. Anyone in good health over the age of 18 is eligible to become a donor. Help us spread the word and possibly save LJ’s life.

Chris Brown Appears in Court, Judge Lifts Restraining Order

Chris Brown appeared in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom today where a judge lifted the restraining order prohibiting him from going near ex-girlfriend Rihanna, reports TMZ. Judge Patricia Schnegg reduced the ban to level one, meaning that the former couple can have contact as long as Brown doesn’t “harass, annoy, or molest her.”
A solemn Breezy, wearing a gray suit, sat beside his attorney Mark Geragos, who spoke on behalf of his client. The 21-year-old singer nodded when the judge asked if he wanted to waive his next court appearance.
Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra appeared on her behalf, telling the judge that she had no objection to the new ruling. “I have spoken with my client and she does not object to the reduction from the stay away order to the level one, or the do not annoy, molest, or harass order,” said Etra.
Brown initially requested the removal of the restraining order after completing his 52-week domestic violence counseling last month, and will remain on probation until 2014.

Knicks land Carmelo Anthony
The New York Knicks have acquired Carmelo Anthony, league sources told ESPN The Magazine's senior writer Chris Broussard on Monday night.
League sources also told Broussard that none of the teams can officially confirm the deal until Tuesday.
The swap is a three-way deal including Minnesota, a league source told Broussard.
As a part of the deal, the Knicks will send Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, and a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Nuggets, who would get additional picks and cash, league sources told Broussard. Along with Anthony, New York would acquire Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman, the sources said.
New York will send Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to Minnesota as part of the deal in exchange for Corey Brewer, a league source told Broussard.
The Denver Post first reported the news.
"I'm glad its over," Nuggets coach George Karl said, according to the newspaper. "I'm glad it's an opportunity to reinvent. I think everybody handled it as classy as you could handle it. There's some sadness to it, there always will be."
The Nuggets have explored an Anthony trade since he refused to sign the three-year contract extension worth nearly $65 million they offered him last summer. They appeared on the verge of sending him to the New Jersey Nets on multiple occasions, but the Knicks increased their offer enough to land Anthony, who was believed to prefer New York all along.
The Knicks would hope he could be in uniform Wednesday when they host the Milwaukee Bucks. If he is, he'll probably be wearing a different number.
Anthony wore No. 15 for his seven-year tenure with the Nuggets. He also wore No. 15 during his one season at Syracuse. But that digit will be off limits for Anthony in New York because the organization retired No. 15 twice -- once for Earl Monroe and once for Dick McGuire.
Anthony wore No. 22 during his tenure at Oak Hill Academy. But that number won't be available for Anthony in New York, either. It was worn by Knicks great Dave DeBusschere and retired by the organization in 1981.
A team official was unsure of which number Anthony would wear with the Knicks when contacted by ESPNNewYork.com late Monday night.
Anthony wasn't at the Nuggets' practice on Monday night. Instead, the All-Star forward was in Burbank, Calif., taping a segment on "Conan."
Team spokesman Tim Gelt told The Associated Press that Anthony's absence was excused. Late Monday afternoon, Anthony tweeted: "Headed to Burbank to film THE CONAN SHOW."
"I wish it would just come to an end," Anthony said on the show. "It's all fun and games, it's exciting that I'm wanted by so many people, but at this point enough is enough. Let's get it done. Let's make something happen."
Anthony led the Nuggets to the playoffs in each of his first seven seasons in Denver after winning a national title at Syracuse as a freshman and had them positioned for another playoff run this year. But Denver advanced out of the first round just once in that time.
He stood to become the headliner of the 2011 free agent class, but didn't want to risk free agency knowing a new collective bargaining agreement could cost him millions. But once he refused the extension with the Nuggets -- plus put his Denver mansion on the market last year -- the Nuggets' new front office team of general manager Masai Ujiri and team president Josh Kroenke had to begin trade talks so they wouldn't risk losing him for nothing like the Cavaliers did with LeBron James and the Toronto Raptors did with Chris Bosh last year.
There were persistent rumors Anthony wouldn't take the extension if traded to the Nets, which was a prerequisite for them agreeing to a trade. He instead gets his apparent wish to join a Knicks team that is in sixth place in the Eastern Conference and in position for its first playoff berth since 2004.
