Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are now parents to twin babies, arriving as the perfect gift for their fourth wedding anniversary Saturday.
Carey's representative confirmed that the singer gave birth to a girl and a boy at 9:07am at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. The girl was born first and weighs 5lbs., 3oz. The boy was born second and weighs 5lbs., 6oz. The couple has yet to name the children.
Thinking this was just another false alarm, Carey was reportedly calm as her hubby drove her to the hospital Thursday night. However, the Grammy winner (and belly painter) soon realized this was the real deal, giving birth to the couple's 5-pound, 3-ounce baby girl and then her brother (weighing in at 5 pounds, 6 ounces) via C section.
"Congratulations to Mariah & Nick on the birth of #dembabies!!, a rep wrote on Carey's Twitter page. "Born, April 30th at 12:07pm ET. Mommy, Daddy & #dembabies are all doing fine!"
While the proud parents have yet to name their children, they plan to have nurseries on both coasts—in New York and Los Angeles.Carey and Cannon wed in 2007. Congrats to the couple!
