Twenty year old rapper / producer MenaCe prepares for his forthcoming debut album with the release of lead single 'Hennessy'.

Born and raised in Manchester, MenaCe (real name Michael Leon Carr) has been writing music for over six years, and has immersed himself in the North West grime scene for a vast majority of that time. Having aligned himself with similar local artists (including the likes of Shifty, Hypes, O.G and Virus Syndicate), MenaCe has appeared on both local and national radio, and has received heavy support from the likes of BBC 1xtra, Unity Radio and WFM. But with a richly diverse list of musical influences listed in his repertoire (including Motown, Alicia Keys, Sade, Bob Marley, Damien Marley, Nas, Common, Novel, Nina Simone, John Legend and even Italian composer / pianist Ludovico Einaudi), it's obvious that this unique artist's sound could span much further afield than the 'urban' category.

His latest single is a smooth, slow tempo affair, comprised of mellow electric piano chords, reverb soaked claps, flickering hi hats and a perpetual deep bassline. Accompanied by MenaCe's laid back yet immaculately discernible vocal tones, and topped off with a symphony of uplifting strings, rich electric guitars and pitch bent synths, 'Hennessy' is a more-than worthy ode to one of Hip Hop's staple luxuries.

The single is accompanied by an immaculately fresh visual, which is sponsored by King Apparel and features MenaCe on a variety of backdrops including his smoke filled flat, a graffiti splattered underpass and a dazzling night time city sky line.
